City of Largo Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The City of Largo is pleased to announce that Largo’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2021, received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

An impartial panel judged the report to meet the program’s high standards, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

"Providing useful, accurate, and transparent information about the City’s financial activities to residents and other stakeholders is important to us," said the City of Largo’s Finance Director, Rebecca Spuhler. "Our financial and budget reports are imperative to us doing that. The receipt of this award for the 32nd consecutive year is a direct reflection of the knowledge and dedication of the Finance team."
