True community-oriented policing requires meaningful, ongoing dialog with our residents, and we encourage you to get involved.  For questions or suggestions to improve our quality of service, please email PoliceInfo@largo.com. The City of Largo continues to expand a commitment to sustainability through a new composting bin program. The program, which provides a free composting bin to Largo residents for their own home use, launched last October on World Food Day. Since the program launch, 555 Largo residents have requested a compost bin!

City Staff discovered the failure of a 72-inch storm pipe along West Bay Drive in Downtown Largo. Engineering responded to a report of a large hole next to the roadway near Ulmer Park. Coordinating with the Public Works Department, staff barricaded the area for immediate safety and worked with a contractor to stabilize the failure to avoid damage to the nearby roadway or sewer system. Staff is now working on the larger issue of failing pipes due to age.

In October 2018, the City began an over $50 million project to upgrade the treatment plant. To date, this project is 75 percent complete with a final completion date in Fall 2021.
