Public Hearing - Community Needs & Performance Review - Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 6 PM
The public is invited to attend a joint public hearing hosted by the City of Largo and Pinellas County to obtain input from the community on community needs.  This input will be used for consideration in the development of the FY 2021-2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan.  The City and County will also provide a performance review of the FY 2019-2020 CDBG and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs.  The public has the opportunity to participate in person or online/virtually:

CDBG Annual Report Available for Public Review and Comment

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) FY 2019-2020 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (Annual Report) is available for public comment through February 3, 2021.  Comments on the report will be accepted in writing to: or by mail:  City of Largo Housing Division, Attn:  Arrow Woodard, PO Box 296, Largo, FL 33779.  Hard copies of the report are also available at Largo City Hall, Community Development Dept. at 201 Highland Avenue, Largo, FL 33779 and at Largo Public Library - Reference Desk at 120 Central Park Drive, Largo, FL 33771.

Notice of Funding Availability for Non-Profit Agencies
The City of Largo will begin accepting applications from non-profit agencies for its CDBG-CV funding on December 2, 2020 at 8:00 AM.  CDBG-CV funds were allocated by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to be used for the response, mitigation and prevention of COVID-19.  The application deadline is January 15, 2021 at 5:00 PM.  Applicants can apply through the City's Application Portal.  More information is available on funding priorities and guidelines in the Notice of Funding Availability.

A Technical Assistance meeting was held on December 11, 2020 for the CDBG-CV application.

The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, announced that Largo’s Vice Mayor Jamie Robinson was recently appointed to serve on the League’s 2020-2021 Advocacy Committee. Members of this committee are appointed annually by the League’s president. Florida League of Cities President Tony Ortiz, commissioner for the City of Orlando, made the appointments for this term.

Largo's Sold on Largo Program is accepting applications to help first-time homebuyers purchase their first home in Largo.  The City's is also accepting applications for its Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program to help income-eligible homeowners make safety and energy efficiency improvements to their home.

The City of Largo GIS Team is looking for community input regarding available online information. Largo residents and businesses are invited to share feedback to help City staff better understand what types of online applications and mapping services best serve the public. Once feedback is received and reviewed, the GIS Team will continue to publish additional public applications to decrease the information gap between city staff and the public.

The City of Largo has begun efforts toward the development of a new City Hall. Community members including residents, businesses, and community groups will be invited to share their priorities for specific design features and public use elements of this new and improved City Hall.

Hosted virtually and live on the City of Largo Facebook page ( on select Saturday mornings throughout the year, participants can learn how Largo is going resilient, exploring ways that we can become more resilient, from the individual level to our shared community.

The Downtown Plaza project is located on the southwest corner of the West Bay Drive and Seminole Boulevard. This public space is a passive park at the eastern gateway to Downtown Largo and features vertical landscaped monuments welcoming both drivers and pedestrians.
