Strategic Plan

A strategic plan is an essential component of any organization. Largo's Strategic Plan is an evolution of the Future Focus document created in 2015 and seeks to encompass both community aspirations and initiatives. The plan sets goals to maintain those aspects of our community is most proud of, and strives to achieve the new goals expressed by residents and City leaders.

The plan is a blueprint – a guide for the City operations – that focuses on clear, collective goals. As an organization, it helps prioritize resources and facilitate management decisions that target these desired outcomes. As a community, it provides a shared vision for Largo and a basis to identify, evaluate, and communicate progress on results. On Monday, May 30 at 9am, join the City of Largo as we honor our fallen soldiers during our annual Memorial Day Ceremony in the Military Court of Honor in Largo Central Park. The ceremony begins at 9am. Largo Police Officer Robert Farias serves as keynote speaker for the ceremony with live music, presentations, and a colors presentation by the City of Largo Fire and Police Department Honor Guard.

Efforts to promote an inclusive city directly support our long-term focus on community pride and sustainability by enhancing the vitality of our community.  To support these efforts and to join our neighboring communities, the City of Largo is participating in several activities and events throughout the month of June.

On Saturday, July 16 from 9am-11am, Largo Fire Rescue will host a free hurricane preparedness expo in the Jenkins Wing of the Largo Public Library. Learn from how to be prepared before, during and after the storm with information including disaster kits and where to find shelter.

At the Tuesday, May 17 Largo City Commission Meeting, City Commission approved an agreement with OB Golf Investment Group LLP to purchase a 26.7-acre property across the street from Taylor Park for $600,000.

As part of the current roadway restoration on 20th Street, beginning Tuesday, May 17, the City's contractor will begin construction on the northbound lane of 20th Street between West Bay Drive and Melhenbacher Road. The northbound lane will be closed and northbound traffic will not be permitted between West Bay Drive and Melhenbacher.

With the 2022 hurricane season set to begin on June 1, the City of Largo and the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County are encouraging everyone to prepare for severe weather emergencies now, especially if you have a medical condition and require special assistance to evacuate or shelter.
