Strategic Plan

A strategic plan is an essential component of any organization. Largo's Strategic Plan is an evolution of the Future Focus document created in 2015 and seeks to encompass both community aspirations and initiatives. The plan sets goals to maintain those aspects of our community is most proud of, and strives to achieve the new goals expressed by residents and City leaders.

The plan is a blueprint – a guide for the City operations – that focuses on clear, collective goals. As an organization, it helps prioritize resources and facilitate management decisions that target these desired outcomes. As a community, it provides a shared vision for Largo and a basis to identify, evaluate, and communicate progress on results. The City of Largo will be hosting an in-person open house meeting with community stakeholders and area residents to answer questions and receive feedback regarding the current development regulations in the Tri-City Special Area Plan. This will include a discussion of potential amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Development Code in the Tri-City Special Area Plan. Feedback from residents is essential to the potential development of new standards.

Largo City Commission, City Leadership, and the Horizon Project Team joined the project architect, ASD│SKY and Biltmore Construction in Downtown Largo for an official groundbreaking ceremony of Horizon West Bay in Fall 2022. Mayor Woody Brown and City Manager Henry Schubert welcomed guests and talked about Horizon as a true investment in a Downtown vision.

As part of the current roadway restoration on 20th Street, beginning Tuesday, May 17, the City's contractor will begin construction on the northbound lane of 20th Street between West Bay Drive and Melhenbacher Road. The northbound lane will be closed and northbound traffic will not be permitted between West Bay Drive and Melhenbacher.
