Safe Streets for All: Seminole Boulevard

Forward Pinellas, in its role as the Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization, adopted the Safe Streets Pinellas Action Plan in 2021. Committing the agency to planning and prioritization of safety in all aspects of transportation. As part of the action plan, Forward Pinellas was able to develop the Safe Streets For All (SS4A) Planning Grant program that would support local initiatives to prevent death and injuries on their busiest roads and streets. Forward Pinellas sought local government partners throughout Pinellas County to submit a joint SS4A application for funding to conduct planning activities that will identify area of safety improvement for nearby communities along the roadway corridor.

The City of Largo was selected as a recipient of the planning grant and has partnered with Forward Pinellas and Fehr & Peers to develop transportation safety recommendations for a segment of Seminole Boulevard. The project limits included are between Ulmerton Road (SR-688) to 8th Avenue SE.
