George C. McGough Nature Park

This park is also known as "the turtle park" for its abundant aquatic turtle population. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and stroll through the shady oak hammock or through the mangroves along the intracoastal waterway. Make sure you visit the nature center which houses live animal exhibits and hands-on activities for children. The park also offers several environmental education programs. Take a virtual tour or stop by today.

*Due to safety concerns the wooden boardwalk is currently closed for repair and renovations.
We have been awarded a state grant to help rebuild the boardwalk and are working to reopen it as soon as possible.
We do not have a date for the reopening of the boardwalk at this time.
