Future Land Use & Long-Range Planning

City of Largo aims to implement the community’s vision for future growth and development through future land use. The Planning Division is responsible for preparing long-range plans, programs, initiatives, and policy documents in compliance with the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and ensures that each plan and other policy documents comply with other local government, regional, state, and federal planning efforts.

Future Land Use Map (FLUM) Amendments
Need to change a future land use classification? If you desire to use or develop property in a manner that does not conform to the current future land use classification, you may go through a Future Land Use Map Amendment (FLUMA) process. The applicant must demonstrate that the proposed FLUM is consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and meets the review criteria in the City's Comprehensive Development Code (CDC).
