Holly Jolly Happenings: City of Largo Welcomes the Holiday Season with a Calendar Packed Full of Festive Events

The holidays in Largo are a magical time, and we want to ensure you and your family have a safe and fun season. Holiday Lights & Carnival Rides
Nov 23-Dec 31 | 5-10pm | Largo Central Park
Experience the season's enchantment of Largo transforms into a radiant wonderland for this beloved annual tradition. Immerse yourself in the magic of over two million mesmerizing LED lights, creating a breathtaking holiday display perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Please note this is a walking tour. Golf carts, electric bikes and motorized vehicles are not permitted inside of the park.

Holiday Lights in the Gardens
Nov 23-Dec 31 | 5:30-9:30pm | Florida Botanical Gardens
Through our community partnership with the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation, the City of Largo is proud to share Holiday Lights in the Gardens at Florida Botanical Gardens. The Gardens will sparkle with one million, twinkling, LED lights in a multitude of colors. Vibrant laser lights and lighted figures round out their display to wow guests of all ages. Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting
Dec 2 | 6pm | Largo Central Park
Embark on a festive journey through our dazzling light display, revel in live performances, witness the magical tree lighting at 6pm, and meet Santa for free photos from 6:30 to 8pm. Limited on-site parking is available for $10, or park and walk from Largo Middle and Largo High Schools for $5.

Strolling Market
Dec 2 | 6pm | Largo Central Park
Stroll & shop from local artisans, crafters and vendors during this seasonal favorite event. Finish your holiday shopping and support small businesses. Limited on-site parking is available for $10, or park and walk from Largo Middle and Largo High Schools for $5.

Sunday Matinee: Sequel Christmas
Dec 3 | 2pm | Largo Community Center
Embrace the festive spirit at Largo Community Center's Sunday Matinee, as we present the Sequel Christmas Show.

Sensitive Santa
Dec 8 & 15 | 6pm | Ulmer Park
Step into a magical holiday world at this family-friendly event, carefully designed for a safe and joyful experience. Enjoy sensory activities, unique photo spots with Santa, soothing music, and reduced crowds to create a sensory-friendly atmosphere. Santa is ready to communicate in sign language for those who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring everyone feels the holiday magic.

Santa’s Holiday Revue

Join the festive journey of a lively, global musical that explores the joyous traditions of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and more, engaging students in a heartwarming celebration of cultural diversity.

Sounds of the Season
Dec 10 | 3:30pm | Central Park Performing Arts Center
Founded in 1945, the "Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony" is a 50-member men's a cappella chorus, honored as the 3rd Place Medalist chorus by the Barbershop Harmony Society, presenting a captivating holiday show blending secular and sacred classics through full chorus sound, quartets, and ensembles for a unique vocal celebration of the season in December.

Santa’s Calling
Dec 11 | Calls made between 6-8pm
Create a wonderful memory for your child as they talk to the big man himself. Forms are available at recreation facilities, Largo Library and at PlayLargo.com.

Holidays Around the World Bingo
Dec 15 | 4pm | Largo Public Library
Children ages 5-12 can enjoy a specially themed Bingo game featuring Santa, a menorah, mistletoe, mazao, carolers, and more to celebrate the diverse holidays of the season.

Old Fashioned Christmas Parade
Dec 16 | 12pm| Downtown Largo
The Rotary Club of Largo will host its annual Old Fashioned Christmas Parade in downtown Largo, featuring decorated floats, local dance troupes, fire trucks, marching bands, and Santa Claus. The parade starts at noon from the corner of First Avenue and Fourth Street Southwest and circles the brick streets of Largo.

Holiday Concert in the Park
Dec 16 | 2pm | Largo Community Center
Indulge in the festive spirit for the whole family with an afternoon filled with holiday music, creative make-and-take crafts, and the delightful warmth of hot cocoa and holiday cookies.

The Blind Boys of Alabama Holiday Show
Dec 16 | 8pm | Central Park Performing Arts Center
Recognized worldwide as living legends of Gospel music, the Blind Boys of Alabama will take the stage to deliver timeless holiday standards from their Grammy-winning albums.

Holiday Cookies & Crafts
Dec 18 | 5pm | Largo Public Library
'Tis the season to express love through handmade crafts. Kids aged 5-12 are welcome to unleash their creativity with various craft supplies, creating something special for themselves or a loved one, and indulging in a sweet treat or two.

Noon Year Celebration
Dec 31 | 11am | Largo Community Center
Ring in 2024 with adults-only festivities, including dancing, entertainment, and light refreshments. The party keeps going until the ball drops, with a champagne toast at noon.
