Hurricane Idalia Recovery Efforts

Do you have questions about hurricane damage or insurance claims? Pinellas County released the following information to assist residents in recovery efforts. 

Disaster Recovery Centers Now Open
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open two Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) to assist residents affected by Hurricane Idalia. The following locations are scheduled to open on Saturday, Sep 16, 2023:

  • The Centre at Palm Harbor, 1500 16th St., Palm Harbor, open daily, 9am - 7pm
  • The Enoch Davis Center, 1111 18th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, open daily, 9am-7pm

DRCs serve as centralized locations where people can access various services and information related to disaster recovery.

When visiting please bring identification, proof of residence, insurance information, and any documentation related to your disaster-related losses to facilitate the application process.

Storm Damage Recovery Webinar: Navigating the Insurance Process
Pinellas County Emergency Management will host a local hurricane insurance webinar on Monday, Sep 18, at 6pm. Panelists will review tips for properly assessing risk, available insurance policies, responsibilities after a loss, properly documenting storm damage, and managing the claims process. The panel will be moderated by Jess McCracken, the Whole Community Readiness Coordinator for Pinellas County Emergency Management.

Apply for a low-interest loan for your home or business. 
The U.S. Small Business Administration is now offering low-interest loans starting as low as 2.5 percent for Pinellas homeowners and 4 percent for businesses to make repairs and cover economic losses from Hurricane Idalia.  Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/ and should apply under SBA declaration # 18118.
