Largo is proud to celebrate the 2023 National Public Works Week, May 21-27. This week recognizes the team members who provide emergency response, maintain our streets, sidewalks, trash, and recycling collection, and enhance the daily lives of our residents and businesses. This year’s theme, “Connecting the World Through Public Works” highlights the way public works professionals connect us physically, through infrastructure, and inspirationally, through service to our community, whether as first responders, or daily workers carrying out their duties with pride. To recognize this week, a proclamation will be made at the Tuesday, May 16 Largo City Commission Meeting. Tune in virtually at Largo.com/LiveTV or on the City of Largo Facebook page.
The Largo Public Works team has seen recent successes such as being ranked top in the state at the Florida Solid Waste Association of North America’s Road-E-O and are accredited through the American Public Works Association.
