Make #MLKDay a Day of Service

Martin Luther King Jr. continues to be an inspiration for civic participation, community building, and advancing justice. This year consider how you can celebrate and recognize this community leader such as:

  • Read a book written by or about Martin Luther King, Jr. (Check out LargoPublicLibrary.org)
  • View a local or national virtual event celebrating MLK day
  • Participate safely in a day of service with your household or sign up for virtual volunteering at PCSB.org/mentor and 211TampaBay.org
  • Support a local nonprofit in their MLK day events, such as Friends of Ridgecrest.

As a reminder, Largo facilities including City Hall, recreation facilities, Largo Public Library, and the Central Park Performing Arts Center will be closed on Monday, January 17 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There will be NO residential collection on Monday, January 17. Monday residential collection moves to Tuesday, and Tuesday residential collection moves to Wednesday. For commercial collections, there is no change to the schedule. To view the holiday collection schedule, visit Largo.com/MyTrashDay
