Largo Wastewater Reclamation Facility Treatment Plant Upgrades

The City of Largo owns and operates an Advanced Wastewater Reclamation Facility that treats wastewater for the City of Largo and surrounding areas.

In October 2018, the City began an over $50 million project to upgrade the treatment plant. To date, this project is 75 percent complete with a final completion date in Fall 2021. We have fully upgraded one of our three biological treatment trains, with the second a month from completion. After that, we have one more train to go! The Environmental Services Department is excited about the new, more energy efficient equipment put in place to help reduce nutrient loading to Tampa Bay.
