City Receives Grant for Seniors Living in Mobile Homes

The City of Largo recently applied for a grant from the Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) and was awarded a $7,500 donor-funded grant from Senior Citizens Services, Inc. (SCS). The Community Development Department will use the grant to purchase and install wheelchair lifts for seniors living in mobile homes under a new pilot project called Accessing Home.

The PCF recently announced the establishment of its newest $10 million donor-advised fund by the Senior Citizens Services, Inc. (SCS). SCS is a local 501(s)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1960, which recently decided to enlist the services of the Pinellas Community Foundation to administer its grant program for the benefit of seniors 55+ in Pinellas County.

This new fund brings together two foundations passionately committed to addressing the needs of older adults in Pinellas County in three key areas: housing, wellness and senior support services. Having served Pinellas County for nearly a half-century, the PCF brings extensive grant management expertise to this exciting new partnership. Currently, PCF provides donor-funded grants to more than 130 non-profit organizations in Pinellas County.
