Largo Chosen by Google for New Digital Environmental Tool

The City of Largo is one of the first 100 cities to be featured on a new online tool from Google. The Environmental Insights Explorer (EIE) tool uses Google data sources and modeling to map greenhouse gas emissions for over 100 cities worldwide. EIE was created in partnership with Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy as a way for decision makers and researchers to explore data and solutions for climate issues.

Users now have a unique insight into building emissions, transportation emissions and rooftop solar potential. Residents can estimate their greenhouse gas emissions, view their home solar potential, and discover ways to actively reduce their carbon footprint. In an effort to build a more sustainable and resilient, the City will be using this tool to gauge and improve future sustainability efforts in Largo.
