November is Largo Small Business Month

The City of Largo is encouraging residents, businesses and visitors to support the small business community during the month of November, also known as Largo Small Business Month. Now in it's seventh year, the month-long celebration was created by the City Commission to promote awareness of the impact local businesses have on the quality of life in the City of Largo. This year's Small Business Month proclamation will be adopted on Tuesday, November 6th at the City Commission meeting. Three activities are planned in conjunction with this event:

  •  Free Business Training – “Run, Hide, Fight For Your Business” is a free event that will take place on Thursday, November 15th at the Largo Police Department at 201 Highland Avenue. This highly sought after training will help empower you with the knowledge and options if you find your business as the scene of an active shooter incident. RSVP is required, as seating is limited. Email [email protected] to register.

  • The “Best of Largo” Awards is being sponsored by the City of Largo in conjunction with the Largo Leader newspaper. Online voting begins on October 25th for your favorite Largo business. The voting period ends November 15th and the winners will be featured in the newspaper and at a Largo City Commission meeting.

  • There is no charge for temporary events during the month of November. Businesses are encouraged to host sidewalk sales, tent sales, or other shopping-related events through the community during the busiest shopping month of the year. The $75 temporary event fee will not be charged, however businesses must submit the temporary event permit application at least ten business days prior to the event for life safety review.
