Largo Celebrates Pride Month this June

Building the Community of Choice in Tampa Bay means creating a welcoming, equitable, and compassionate Largo. Efforts to promote an inclusive city directly support our long-term focus on community pride and sustainability by enhancing the vitality of our community.

The month of June is designated in communities across the United States as Pride Month to both acknowledge the history of prejudice and discrimination toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual communities and as an opportunity to celebrate the advancements of the human rights movement and the LGBTQAI+ rights movement. To support these efforts and join our neighboring communities, the City of Largo is participating in several activities and events throughout June.

Ceremonial Pride Flag Raising at Largo City Hall
On Tuesday, June 4 at 5:15pm, join the ceremonial flag raising on the side lawn of Largo City Hall, preceding the City Commission meeting. All community members are welcome to participate in this celebration.

This year's Pride Month honoree is Alex Rocha, a Largo Police Officer, who will accept the 2024 Pride Month Proclamation. Following the flag-raising, community members are encouraged to attend the City Commission Meeting at 6pm. It's an excellent opportunity to engage with local government and hear from community leaders. If you prefer to participate from home, you can watch or listen at
