Police Officer Employment

What You'll Do
Largo Police Officers perform general duty police work in the enforcement of laws and ordinances. An officer is responsible for the protection of life and property, for the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime, and for maintaining law and order. Specific assignments are received as a result of calls for police service and from superior officers and are carried out in accordance with established rules and procedures. However, officers must be able to act without direct supervision in meeting emergencies and unusual situations.
What's Required
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • A citizen of the United States of America
  • Minimum of 60 college credits or prior LE/Military
  • Valid Florida Drivers License (Class E)
  • No felony or misdemeanor of character convictions
  • No objectionable/offensive tattoos visible in a police uniform
