MichaelSmithCommissioner Michael Smith is a Florida and Largo native, a graduate of Osceola High School, Class of 2000 and attended Saint Petersburg College. He is also a Class of 2011 Largo Citizens’ Academy Graduate and Florida League of Cities - Institute for Elected Officials, Graduate I, II, III.

POLITICAL BACKGROUND
For the past 16 years, Commissioner Smith has worked in the Pinellas County libraries. Before making his way into the library system, he worked in grocery management. Currently, Michael is a Library Assistant at the Pinellas Park Library. Commissioner Smith was elected to the City Commission in 2011 (three-year term), and was re-elected in 2014 and 2018 (four-year terms). He was appointed to serve as Vice Mayor from 2017-2018.

Please be advised that Kersey Road will be closed starting January 16 until Saturday, January 18 as the City’s Contractor, All American Concrete, works on emergency sewer line repair. In addition, Wilcox Road from Indian Rocks Road to 137th Street N will have intermittent closures starting January 16 until mid-February. All American Concrete is performing sanitary sewer repairs for the City's I&I Project.
