City of Largo to Team Up with Downtown Residents

The City of Largo will join forces with residents and several volunteers to beautify a downtown and adjacent neighborhood on April 28, 2018, from 9am to 1pm for the first Neighborhood Cleanup of 2018. The event will offer a variety of information and services while encouraging residents to participate in beautification activities such as planting, landscaping, helping neighbors or performing cleanup work in their community. Largo Fire Rescue and the American Red Cross of Tampa Bay will be installing free smoke detectors from 10am-2pm and Largo Parks will be giving away free trees. Music and pizza will be on-hand to those participating in the event and to those who stop by the city tent to learn about city services.

Largo Solid Waste will have dumpsters in the parking lot of Pinellas County School Board District Offices located at 301 4th St SW in Largo. Residents can drop off yard waste, non-commercial construction debris, tires, tree limbs, furniture, and electronic waste. Normal household trash and recycling can be set out on the normal collection days. Representatives from Tampa Bay CDC, Habitat for Humanity and Gulfcoast Legal Services will also be on-hand to share information with interested community members.
