Largo Small Business Month

The City of Largo is encouraging residents, businesses and visitors to support the small business community during the month of November, also known as Largo Small Business Month. Now in it's eighth year, the month-long celebration was created by the City Commission to promote awareness of the impact local businesses have on the quality of life in the City of Largo. This year's Small Business Month proclamation will be adopted on Tues, Nov 5 at the City Commission meeting. Three activities are planned in conjunction with this event:

  • Free Business Event – “Advanced LinkedIn for Businesses” is a free event that will take place on Wed, Nov 20 at the Largo Library, Jenkins Room B, at 120 Central Park Drive. This event is facilitated by expert instructor Suzanne Ricci of ComputerCoach.com. In today’s business environment, LinkedIn skills are essential to branding yourself and your business for continued success. In this interactive workshop, you will learn Advanced LinkedIn tips and tricks that will set you apart and get your brand on top of the minds of your network. Bring your laptops and work in LinkedIn along with the presenter during this 60-minute program. RSVP is required, as seating is limited. Email [email protected] to register or sign up via Facebook.
  • The “Best of Largo” Awards is being sponsored by the City of Largo in conjunction with the Largo Leader newspaper. Online voting begins on Oct 24 via BestofLargo.TBNWeekly.com for your favorite Largo business. The voting period ends Nov 15 and the winners will be featured in the newspaper and at a Largo City Commission meeting.
  • There is no charge for temporary events during the month of November. Businesses are encouraged to host sidewalk sales, tent sales, or other shopping-related events through the community during the busiest shopping month of the year. The $75 temporary event fee will not be charged, however businesses must submit the temporary event permit application at least ten business days prior to the event for life safety review.
