The City of Largo was awarded the 2018 Green Local Government Award by the Suncoast US Green Building Council (USGBC). The award marks Largo’s deep commitment to sustainability and many recent accomplishments that help to make Largo more sustainable for generations. In just the last year the City has developed the Largo Environmental Action Plan (LEAP), committed to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050, set a goal of all electric-light duty vehicles by 2025, installed electric vehicle charging stations and approved a ban on single-use plastic items.
