Largo Community Ambassador

The City of Largo is excited to invite members of the community to join and help shape the newly launched Community Ambassadors program. Community Ambassadors will build upon the continued success of having members of the public enhance and expand the reach of the city's work while forging relationships and creating strong community ties. A wide variety of opportunities exist, from serving as a volunteer at community meetings, assisting with public feedback sessions and even social media engagement.

Volunteers help the city in so many ways, from ushering shows at the Central Park Performing Arts Center and shelving books at the library to Volunteer Policing. The new program is unique in that Community Ambassadors have the opportunity to assist in a wide variety of projects with outreach staff from various departments. One week, Ambassadors may be with staff at the library collecting resident feedback on a downtown project, the next week they may be out in the community helping to share information about city services or it can be as simple as helping get the word out about our Fire Rescue Open House on social media. “We’re looking for well-rounded individuals who enjoy talking to residents and supporting the City's vision of being the community of choice in Tampa Bay", says Brenda Clark, Community Outreach Coordinator.

The Community Ambassadors program is an extraordinary way to get involved in government and help shape the place we call home. Currently, City of Largo volunteers log over 71,000 hours per year in time and are a valuable asset to the community. To learn more, visit Largo.com/CAM.
