Largo Police Telecommunicator Honored for Life Saving Efforts

Largo Police Telecommunicator Tamika Greer was recently honored for going above and beyond to help save the life of a Largo resident. It began with a phone call from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office explaining that a car had been found in a ditch there that was registered to an elderly female who lived in Largo. Thanks to excellent training and instincts, Tamika investigated further, was able to call the resident on her cell phone and coordinated efforts with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to locate her wandering alone in a wooded area.

Due to her amazing efforts, Tamika was honored in Washington D.C. with the National 911 Public Safety Professional Award and was invited to the White House to meet President Trump and witness the signing of a new law.
