Employ1TampaBay
Launches to Help Get Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties Back to Work
A new Tampa Bay area
initiative has emerged to try to assist people in getting back to
work. The Tampa Bay Business Journal
has launched a website to feature hiring companies and to assist the
unemployed by connecting people with resources offered in both
Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. The journal allows companies that
are hiring to submit hiring information directly onto the website.
Individuals who are searching for employment are linked directly to
the extensive databases offered by WorkNet Pinellas and the Tampa Bay
Workforce Alliance.
The
Employ1TampaBay website estimates that with some help, as many as 116,000 individuals
could re-enter the work force in the region. The website features
event schedules from WorkNet Pinellas and the Tampa Bay Workforce
Alliance for job fairs, career counseling, networking, healthcare,
job and education fairs, and more.
In
Pinellas County, there are three WorkNet Pinellas One Stop Career and
Business Centers and two satellite Centers. There is no fee charged
for any of WorkNet Pinellas' services for employers or jobseekers. In
Hillsborough County, the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance offers
locations in Tampa, Brandon and Plant City. The Career Centers
provide services for employers and employment candidates, including
turnkey business centers for copying, faxing, and internet access. It
also offers conference and meeting space at affordable rates at those
locations for the convenience of employers.
