What's New Around Largo?


Whether you obtain your development news via the local newspapers or follow new projects submitted to the City through the City's website, you may have noticed that Largo is experiencing a lot of development and new business activity. Every week, the City Manager's report is posted on the City Administration page and provides information about the latest businesses opening in Largo. Aside from obtaining information about new business tax receipts, you can also obtain information about new development applications on the Projects Page on the Economic Development webpage. This week's Story of the Week will highlight some recently opened businesses within Largo.


Bayside Court Apartments


Bayside Court is a mixed-income housing project uniquely developed and qualified to serve working families in Largo, located in central Pinellas County. The project has been a catalyst for new redevelopment and urban renewal in the Clearwater-Largo Road Community Redevelopment District through its innovative urban design, recreational opportunities, pedestrian-friendly connections, and transit links to major employment centers.


Consisting of 144 garden-style rental units over 7.44 acres, Bayside Court is located next to Belleair Place apartments on Clearwater-Largo Road. Largo is the third largest municipality in Pinellas and is located within the most densely populated county in Florida, an area with a lack of quality, affordable workforce housing. The developer, in a partnership with the City of Largo and Pinellas County, has set-aside apartment units to be placed in an affordability trust to ensure the long-term affordability of the homes.


Aside from traditional amenities such as the laundry center, the project's design team included a resort-like pool, a billiards game room, a 24-hour accessible gym, media center with a Wii and Xbox gaming consoles, billiards room, a children's playground, additional storage and a business center.


The apartment community recently celebrated it's grand opening on May 5, 2012 and is now open for business and is renting all available units.


The project was made possible through a public-private partnership between the Richman Group of Florida, Inc., City of Largo, the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County, Neighborhood Lending Partners of West Florida, Inc. and J.P. Morgan Chase.

Community Health Solutions


Community Health Solutions is now open in Largo, located at the former Nissan Autoway building at 13600 Icot Boulevard. The newly remodeled office space provides two stories of high quality office space for the company, amounting to a total of 3,132 square feet. The company is an experienced managed health care company that specializes in medical homes networks. The company provides an array of services including both clinical and preventative care programs currently being offered to commercial, government and private health insurers.

I Love Cupcakes


I Love Cupcakes is a new cupcake bakery located at 13220 South Belcher Road, #10 in Largo. The bakery specializes in gourmet, organic and all natural cupcakes. The founder creates signature cupcake flavors such as French Toast with Bacon and Hot Cocoa With Marshmallows.


The business is located within Weston Plaza and offers ample parking.

Coutoure'd New and Resale Boutique


Coutoure'd New and Resale Boutique is located at 910 West Bay Drive across from the Publix Shopping Center. The store had a soft grand opening on April 20, 2012. The boutique owner specializes in the re-sale of new and gently used women's clothing. The store features a shoe vault.
