City of Largo to Participate in 9/11 National Moment of Remembrance back
Date of Record: September 9, 2011

In honor of the anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the City of Largo will "Stop and Remember" as part of the 9/11 National Moment of Remembrance. This resolution, unanimously passed by the US Senate on July 22, memorializes the September 11th terrorist attacks with one minute of reflection and remembrance across the nation.

At 1pm (EDT) on 9.11.11, governments and businesses, houses of worship and railways, fire and police departments, and others are called on to ring bells and sound sirens for a total of one minute (60 seconds), as the nation observes this Moment of Remembrance. The City of Largo Police and Fire Departments will be participating in this non-partisan event by sounding vehicle sirens at this time to reflect on the lives lost and those affected by the tragedies of 9/11.
