What is it? The Trashy Fashion Show was
created to instill an awareness of the importance of alternative
waste solutions throughout the Largo community and in tomorrow's
leaders.
Adults, students and families will compete for
prizes and the title of the Trashiest Designer. |

Rules
of Submission
Submissions must be an original fashion
creation of the group or individual applicant(s).
Fashions
must be made from at least 75% recyclable or reused materials that
would otherwise be thrown away or recycled, this does NOT
include vintage clothing.
There must be NO
sharp edges used in fashions.
There are a limited number of fashions that will be
selected by the Trashy Fashion Team for show participation. Select
fashions not chosen for show participation may be displayed at the
reception preceding the show.

Steps to Enter: Entry Deadline Has Passed

1. Fill out an entry form
| 2. Get creative! Remember to use 75% recyclable items in your wearable art! (Read Rules of Submission above)
| 3. Submit a digital photo of your art by April 6 here to be eligible for the show. 4. Submit an environment factoid that connects with your fashion to be read on stage fill out form here Example: Julie's dress is made of 138 sheets of paper in the US we throw away 4.5 million tons of paper each year! 5. All contestants must attend a dress rehearsal on April 21 at 6:30pm at the Largo Cultural Center Note: Contestants who do not complete each step will be disqualified from the April 22 show

Group/Class
Designs
Group/class designs are
encouraged. Groups are able to participate in the corresponding age categories. There are a limited number of fashions that will be
selected by the Trashy Fashion Team for show participation. Select

Deadlines
Deadline
for application entry is Monday, March
15, 2010. DEADLINE PASSED
Deadline for fashion
entry is Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Fashions
must be completed to allow for Trashy Fashion Team review and
selection.
Fashions may be submitted for review by emailing a
photo of the fashion here please contact for alternate arrangements.
Contestants must also submit an environmental fact related to their design for print in the program and announcement on stage by Tuesday, April 6, 2010. |

Judging
Fashions
will be pre-judged by a panel of judges of which will be selected by the
Trashy Fashion Show Team for eligibility in the show.
Criteria will be based on creativity,
percent of re-used or re-purposed material
and wear-ablity. On the day of the show three final judges will select the winners using the same pre-judge criteria. Prizes will also take into consideration stage presence.

Adult Designer (Ages 18+) Trashiest
Designer (Best in Show) 4 Runner ups (one for each age category)
Prizes
will be awarded to finalists. Only one prize per entry. *Rules
