Becoming a tutor for the Literacy @ Largo ELL program benefits you and your community. All volunteer tutors must complete a New Tutor Orientation and Workshop before being matched with a student. All tutor training workshops are taught by a professional ELL Instructor and are moderated by the library's ELL staff. Each tutor will be provided with the text Teaching Adults: An ESL Resource Book and will be introduced to the many ELL resources the library has to offer. The tutor training workshops are offered quarterly.
- Tutors are expected to meet with their learner two hours per week at a predetermined location.
- Ongoing tutor training and tutor round-tables will be held quarterly.
- All tutors are expected to complete a monthly progress report on each learner assigned to them.
