Annexation is the process of adding
unincorporated property to the boundaries of an incorporated
municipality (a city or town). It is the process by which
municipalities logically expand and straighten their boundary lines.
All unincorporated properties that are located within the
Largo planning service area (large file), and which are directly adjacent to the current Largo City Limits boundary, are eligible for annexation. However, if a property
is not adjacent to the Largo City Limits, but is still located within the
Largo planning service area, the City can still provide services to the
property. In order to receive City of Largo services prior to
annexation, the property owner must sign and submit an Annexation
Agreement. An Annexation Agreement means that the owner's property
will become incorporated into the City limits once it becomes
eligible.
