Monthly Night Hike

(All Ages)

Join us every third Saturday of the month for a guided walk through the woods, seeking out nocturnal animals such as raccoons,

owls, opossums, bats and more. Flashlights are optional. Donations are kindly accepted.

Winter Wonderland

(All ages, Family Event)

Join us and the amazing Southwest Recreation staff as we have a blast throwing snow balls with real ice shavings,

making winter crafts, going on night hikes, and roasting s'mores by the campfire-we're talking some serious fun for

the whole family!


Event Date

Dec. 2 Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Cost: $5 per person, children under 2 are free

Wilderness First Aid 101

(Adults)

This course is designed to teach the basics of wilderness survival and how to utilize one's surroundings to stay safe.

Ideal for scout groups, day-hikers, preparation for family camping, or those interested in learning how to make

it through the toughest circumstances. Course topics include injury prevention, site cleansing and wrapping,

natural resource utility, camping basics, and basic first aid. Upon completion, class participants will receive a certificate

of completion and wilderness first aid course book.

Habitat Cleanup Day at McGough Nature Park and Bonner Park

(All Ages)

Help us protect our Largo nature parks from offshore debris and invasive/exotic plants that choke out our native vegetation.

We will be working to remove trash and waste from our two nature parks. Participants will also help to remove invasive air potato

and Brazilian pepper from the native habitats. Water and gloves will be provided but please remember to wear closed-toed shoes!
