Family Cookout and Camp Out

Jr Explorers Preschool Program

Ages 3-5

Join us for a morning of fun and learning at this beautiful 34-acre nature park's licensed preschool program. Children will enjoy a balance in large and gross motor skills, indoor and outdoor explorations, free choice learning themes and a variety of creative art experiences. Jr Ranger Program

Ages 5-12
Become a Jr Ranger by completing an activity guide at One of Largo's parks. The guide provides fun facts, hands-on learning activies and important information that relates to our environment and parks. Pick up your guide at McGough Nature Park and get started today! Guides are free. Children who complete the guides will receive a Jr Ranger badge. Call 518-3047 for more info.

Nature Home School Program

Ages 3-8
Join us the second Thursday of each month. Monthly themes include reptiles and amphibians, insects, plants and flowers, and planet earth. The program includes a lesson with activities and exploration of the nature park.

Nature Photography Contest

All ages
Bring us up to three of your best nature photo's taken at one of Largo's nature parks and you could be our lucky winner! Photo's must by 5x7 or larger and are due by Monday, March 29 at McGough Nature Park. All submissions must be accompanies by an entry form. New Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

WILD Birthday Parties at McGough Nature Park

Age 5-12

Celebrate your birthday party at the Nature Park. Reserve a covered shelter at the playground or an indoor room. Add a WILD twist to you party. Guided Eco-paddle

Adults

If you enjoy being on the water and learning about the wildlife you encounter, this program is for you! We will explore the intracoastal waterway and estuaries. Kayaks are available for rental. If you are interested call 727-518-3047 to be put no an interest list.

Traveling Naturalist

All Ages

Unable to take a field trip? Leave the traveling to us and invite a naturalist to visit you. You have a variety of topics to choose from. Live animals are available to travel to you. The cost of the program is $50. Call 727-518-3047 to reserve your naturalist.

School, Scout Troop and Home School Field Trips

Largo's Nature Parks invite you to take a field trip! We offer several tours/programs and pre and post trip materials on: birds, plants and trees, ecosystems, Florida wildlife, insects, wetlands, art in nature and more! Call 727-518-3047 to schedule your visit.

P.I.N.E.S. Badge Project

All Ages

Partnership In Nature Education with Scouts. This program was created to assist scouts in completing several different badge requirements. Several Merit Badges can be completed. Call 727-518-3047 to schedule your group.

E.A.G.L.E. Volunteer Program

Ages 16 & Up

Environmental Activists Guarding Largo's Ecosystems. Take advantage of several free trainings in plant and wildlife identification to become an EAGLE volunteer through our Friends of Parks organization. Upon completion of the training participants will receive a volunteer shirt/ID and then assistance can be given to Nature Park staff in preserving and protecting our natural ecosystems.
