Junior Golf Academy

Welcome to the Largo Junior Golf Academy. Our programs for youth golfers provide the opportunity for learning, growth and fun for children of all ages. From basic instruction for the beginning golfer, to advanced instruction and tournaments for the more competitive golfer, Largo Golf Course Pro Instructor Mike Riso (see bio below) provides instruction to take participants skills to the next level. Classes and instruction are offered in various settings including: Weekend Group Lessons, Private Lessons, Summer Camps, and After School Instruction. So, whether you're looking to introduce the game of golf to a beginner, or compete in tournaments with an advanced player...Largo Golf Course has the facility and instruction for you!

Saturday Group Lessons Description: These Saturday group lessons are for all skill levels. Learn and practice grip, setup, alignment, ball position, tempo, course management, back-swing, etiquette, etc. Dates: Every Saturday Time: 8:00am-9:00am Cost: $40/month or $12/class drop-in Ages: 4-17

After School Program Description: The Wednesday after school program is designed to incorporate a life skill component & golf instruction with each class. The session is six weeks long and once a week on Wednesdays. Each week is one and half hours of golf instruction and a half hour of life skills. Golf instruction will consist of proper stance, grip, swing and etiquette. Life skills will consist of talks and exercises with professional life coaches, therapist, athletes, etc. Dates: Every Wednesday, Next Session - April 17-May 22 Time: 4:30pm-6:30pm Cost: $70/session ($17/class) Ages: 4-17

Junior Golf Tournaments Description: The Junior Golf Tournaments are held quarterly and are broken down by age. T-Shirt and post-event meal given to all participants. Girls play from the gold tee markers, boys play from the black tee markers. Ages 6-9 are permitted to have a caddy, walking only. No caddies or electric carts for ages 10-17 (pull carts or carry only) Date: TBD Cost: TBD Ages: 4-17

Meet Our Instructor Mike Riso Certified Professional Golf Instructor, Class A Mike Riso was born in Buffalo, NY and has been teaching golf for 27 years. Mke teaches students of all skill levels how to lower their scores, increase their confidence and gain more joy from golf. Using core principles, he quickly identifies which areas need most attention, then offers fundamentally based solutions, shortening the learning curve for his students.
