Candidates Qualify for Pinellas County Offices

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections confirms:
47county candidates qualified this week

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark said 47 candidates completed their qualifying requirements for county office during this week's qualifying period. Eleven candidates made ballot position by collecting petition signatures; all other candidates paid their designated qualifying fees.

Statewide, the qualifying period for all federal, state, multicounty, county, special district and political party executive committee candidates began at noon Monday (June 4) and ended at
noon today (June 8). Candidates for federal, state and multicounty offices qualify with the Division of Elections.

During the week of April 16, eight candidates qualified for County Judge:

Cathy Ann McKyton, Group 2
Donald E. Horrox, Group 5
Myra Scott McNary, Group 7
Walt Fullerton, Group 9
William H. Overton, Group 11
Lorraine M. Kelly, Group 16
Susan Bedinghaus, Group 17

The following races will be included in the August 14 Primary Election:
For nonpartisan races, if no candidate wins more than 50% of the votes in the race, the two candidates receiving the most votes will be in a runoff on the November 6 General Election ballot.

Unopposed candidates will not appear on the ballot and will become elected automatically on November 6.
