Construction Underway on New Highland Recreation Complex
On Tuesday, May 15, 2012 the City of
Largo and Largo Recreation, Parks & Arts Department held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new Highland
Recreation Complex. The 40,000-square-foot facility will
feature an indoor running track, 3-story indoor playground, ExerPlay!
Room (digital/interactive fitness games), and more. The building was
designed by Tampa architects, Gould Evans and is being built by
Creative Contractors of Clearwater.The current Highland Recreation Complex
and Highland Family Aquatic Center will remain open to the public
during construction. The completion of the new Highland Recreation
Complex is set for May, 2013.

The main entrance off of Highland Avenue
is currently closed.
A temporary main entrance is located on Lake
Avenue, between Rosery Road and East Bay Drive.
