CoreRx: The Pharmaceutical manufacturer CoreRx will soon add 55 high-wage jobs to the City of Largo. The new jobs are the result of a planned expansion that necessitated a new, larger location. CoreRx chose to relocate to the City of Largo because of the area's strong medical industry and the expansion assistance afforded through Florida's incentive programs.
Micro Star Innovation Announces Expansion Plans, Adding 30 Jobs: Micro Star Innovations announced expansion plans to double its existing Largo facility to 30,000-square-feet and add 30 new jobs that will pay 150% of the average annual wage. Micro Star Innovation specializes in scientific molding techniques and insert over-molding capabilities, providing its customers with a one-stop shop for their medical device, automotive component and telecommunications needs. Bovie Medical: The medical manufacturer renovated and relocated 150 positions to an existing 60,000 SF facility at 5115 Ulmerton Road. Bovie Medical specializes in surgi-center and hospital-based electrosurgical generators and accessories with distribution throughout the US and Europe. The manufacturer purchase and renovated the facility at a cost in excess of $4 million.
Diagnostic Clinic: A new six-story 155,000 SF tower has been completed in the Largo Medical Center campus. The $30 million project will be home to the Diagnostic Clinic and their 100+ healthcare providers associated with the clinic. Largo's newest state-of-the-art medical facility will provide comprehensive medical care for the entire family with specialties that include out-patient-care, on-site testing and fast, accurate results. Additionally, same day appointments are available for Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics and Specialists.
Everst University and Maverick High School: The former Winn Dixie store located at the intersection of East Bay Drive and Highland Avenue has undergone a major renovation. The building is now home to Everest University and the new Pinellas County Charter school, Maverick High School. Everest specializes in degrees in various programs including health care, business administration, IT, and trade skills. Maverick High School caters to students who did not fit in to a more traditional educational approach, and they work to find ways to educate that is better suited to their lifestyle and their needs.
Gulfcoast Cancer Center: The $9 million Gulfocast Cancer Center opened with 35 employees. The Center's tenants are the Gulfcoast Oncology Associate and the Gulfcoast Cancer Institute both have a strong presencein Pinellas County. Largo's office is the third for Gulfcoast and is considered to be the most state-of-the-art because of the Virian Trilogy linear accelerator, a machine for precise radiation treatments.
Holiday Inn Express: The $11 million, 65,000 square foot, five-story Holiday Inn hotel has 95 guest rooms and 1,240 square feet of meeting space located at 210 Seminole Blvd. Largo, FL 33770.
JSKaraoke: The parent company of Emerson Karaoke, IXT Systems and Forever Hits. Collectively, the company is one of the largest manufacturers, importers and exporters of Karaoke equipment and music in the world. In the summer of 2010 JSKaraoke became the recipient of Florida's new Economic Gardening Business Loan program.
Largo Medical Center: Largo Medical Center (formerly Suncoast Hospital) located at 2025 Indian Rocks Road is beginning Phase 1 of a major remodel that is expected to be valued at $1,500,000. Largo Medical Center is a 422-bed hospital located on two campuses and is one of the most comprehensive complements of services for patients in the Tampa Bay area. The Largo Medical Center - Indian Rocks campus is home to 24/7 emergency services, The Retreat - behavioral medicine program, inpatient rehabilitation, a sleep disorders laboratory, and wound care with hyperbaric medicine. Largo Medical Center - Indian Rocks is an Accredited Primary Stroke Center.
Mahajan Commercial: The Sonic restaurant at the intersection of West Bay Drive and Clearwater-Largo road will soon be redeveloped into a mixed use development. Dr. Mahajan will be relocating to a new medical facility and new commercial retail space will front Clearwater-Largo road. The project is expected to begin construction early 2010
MedExpress Urgent Care: MedExpress Urgent Care acquired Doctor's Walk-In Clinic, a group of eight centers based in Tampa, in January 2009. The company is expanding to Largo with a new Largo Mall location opening December 2010.
Aldi's: In 2008, Largo added its first Aldi's discount grocery store in a retrofitted retail space at the corner of Rosery Road and Missouri Avenue. The 20,670 sq. ft. location was the first of ten sites in the Tampa Bay are for the Chicago based Aldi stores. The renovation has been helpful in starting the City's revitalization efforts for the Missouri Avenue corridor.
Baltic Amber: 2,500-square-foot Polish Cuisine restaurant located at 552 Clearwater-Largo Road, Largo. It has four dining rooms, each painted to represent one of the four seasons. The rooms can be made private for parties and meetings. Over $147,000 in renovations.
Gulf Coast Po Boy's: Gulf Coast Po' Boys recently opened at 312 West Bay Drive. The restaurant specializes in po' boy sandwiches, Crescent City red beans and rice, New Orleans style salad and southern style cole slaw.
Inner Strength Counseling, LLC: Inner Strength Counseling, LLC, provides individual, couples and family counseling. Located at 801 West Bay Drive, specialties In counseling include adolescent and young adult issues, parenting, domestic abuse, and relationship issues.
Liara Studio: Liara Studios, photographic art and design by Bill Cadzow, opened at 216 West Bay Drive. Cadzow is an award-winning portrait artist specializing in fine art family, corporate and wedding photography.

Neighborhood Walmart Grocery Store: The new Walmart Grocery store opened this summer in a former Kash-n-Karry location in the Barclay Square shopping center on Walsingham Road. The 41,000 square-foot store underwent a $2 million renovation and offers customers a full-line of grocery items, pharmacy and general merchandise. In anticipation of the new grocer, the ownership of Barclay Square revitalized the center with upgrades to the facade and new landscaping.
Pinch-a-Penny: Pinch-a-Penny the largest franchised retail pool, patio, and spa company in the nation will begin constructing two new buildings in the City of Largo in early 2011. The Corporate Administration building and warehouse will occupy more than 255,500 square feet and total more than $23 million.
Pinellas County Health Department: Pinellas County Health Department will be expanding to a new building in the City of Largo. The 4.73-acre Largo property is centrally located and large enough house all of the Health Department's needs. The department plans to move its Healthy Families program to Largo. In the future, the department also hopes to operate a variety of medical clinics, such as family planning and dental services, at the Largo center. The 54,000 square feet expansion is valued at $7,758,556.
Publix Grocery Store: Last summer the Lakeland based Publix purchased forty-nine Albertson stores throughout the state of Florida. In the Tampa Bay market there are twenty-one stores that have gone through or are going through a Publix renovation process. The newest conversion was the Belcher Road and East Bay Drive site where Publix spent in excess of $2.5 million on renovations to the interior, exterior and parking area of the former Albertsons.
Salon Amelia: the newly renovated full service salon located 1406 Clearwater-Largo Rd offers clients a spa like atmosphere. The owner recently relocated to Largo from New York City and has been in business for over 17 years.
Save-A-Lot: The 11,200 square foot former Eckerd Drug store location at the corner of West Bay Drive and Clearwater Largo Road was renovated and reopened as a grocery store in Downtown Largo.
Sikorski's Deli: A Polish Deli and retail storelocated at 910 West Bay Drive in downtown Largo specializing in authentic traditional Polish dishes.
Tropical Smoothie: opened at 1001 West Bay Drive in historic downtown Largo. The Cafe' specializes in Real Fruit Smoothies, Salads, Sandwiches, Wraps, and Catering.

Community Garden: Using monies from the City's Tree Fund two vacant lots on West Bay Drive were transformed into a temporary community garden.
Old Northwest: a residential and business neighborhood stretching 1.8 miles on both sides of the West Bay Drive corridor. The neighborhood also boasts of historic residential areas that are distinct for their brick streets, excellent tree canopy and homes that date from the 1920s and 1930s.
