Swim Class Descriptions
Ages 6 months to 2 years old
Shrimp/Manatee (Parent and Child Aquatics)Parents are taught safety skills, and how to work with their children in water adjustment and swim lesson preparation. Individualized to child's developmental level.
Ages 3 to 5 years old
Guppy/Preschool Aquatics Level 1
For beginners; no previous instruction. Teaches elementary skills.Minnow/Preschool Aquatics Level 2
For beginners who have completed Guppy level and/or can jump in, swim 3 yards unassisted, then turn on their back with assistance. Students who pass the minnow class should enroll in the duck class.
Starfish/Preschool Aquatic Level 3
Students who have completed Minnow and/or can glide 10 ft on front and back, swim 15 ft using combined arm and leg actions, roll to back, float 5 seconds, roll to front and continue swimming 15 ft more(assistance only when taking a breath). Max 6 children per class.
Ages 6 to 12 years old
Seahorse/Learn to Swim Level 1For beginners; no previous instruction. Teaches elementary skills based on a progression of swimming abilities.
Duck/Learn to Swim Level 2
Jump in, swim 5 yards, float on the front for 3 seconds, roll over and float on the back for 3 seconds. Introduces refined arm and leg movement.
Flying Fish/Learn to Swim Level 3
Jump in, swim 15 yards on front and 15 yards on back. Front float and back float for 5 seconds. Focus is on the front crawl; elements of back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly are taught.
Surfer/Learn to Swim Level 4/5
Jump in, front crawl 15 yards with rhythmic breathing, tread water for 30 seconds, and back crawl for 15 yards. Refines front crawl, back crawl, elementary back stroke, side stroke, and butterfly.

Private Lessons
Individualized learning environment; classes are 30 minutes. Facility cannot guarantee the same instructor each week.
