Temporary Event Fee Moratorium During the Month of November 2012
November is typically a month for retailers and merchants to gear up for holiday season sales and sell off extra inventory. The month is known for the busiest shopping day of the year, also known as "black Friday," early holiday sales and other promotions to shoppers seeking bargains. This November, to create awareness of the impact that local businesses have on the quality of life in the City of Largo, the City Commission has adopted a moratorium on the collection of temporary event fees.
What does this mean for your business? This means your business can have a sidewalk sale, parking lot sale, tent event, or another type of temporary event and you will not be required to pay the permitting fee of $75. You will be required however, to submit a temporary event permit application, for safety purposes. The moratorium is good for events during the month of November 2012 only. Businesses are encouraged to apply and participate in this limited time offer.
Temporary Event Applications must be submitted in-person, however the application is available on the Ask A Planner Page. It is recommended that you submit your temporary event permit no later than one week prior to your event. For more information, contact the Planner on Call at (727) 587-6749 x 7301.
