Concessions for Special Events
The Special Events Team are constantly on the lookout for more concessions vendors to increase the variety of food and beverages made available to attendees. Our events range from small intimate affairs all the way up
to enormous, boisterous festivals that satisfy more than 20,000 people
at a time. Vendors that are interested in operating at our events must
be eager for the occasional calm day as well as the hectically busy
ones.
Every season, we go through our resource book and invite vendors to participate based upon many factors such as event theme, expected audience, and available menus. The more items you tell us you can make and sell, the more likely we will be able to fit you into an event. This is especially true for vendors who offer specialty items like healthy foods, exotic cuisines, and signature items. The more common items (hot dogs, hamburgers, kettle corn, etc.) will be invited less often simply because there are so many vendors selling them.
To join our resource book, please complete a Participant Interest Form and return it along with your complete menu. Do not be vague or use generalities in your menu. The more specific items we know you are capable and willing to make and sell, the better. We will not randomly call new vendors to ask if they can do something not listed in the menu sent us.
Also important to note is the conditions in which concessions vendors must be willing and eager to work. All events within the Special Events direct purview are outdoor events. This means vendors must be prepared to deal with weather (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.), electrical needs, and water needs. Vendors must provide their own required 10x10 tents and must secure them to reasonably prevent damage to their own property or that of others. Tables and chairs may be available in small quantities, but they must be requested at the time of booking the event to ensure they are available and properly reserved in time. Electricity is limited at most locations and non-existent at others. By giving us detailed information regarding your electrical needs and capabilities, we can better match the vendor to the event so that all parties have a more enjoyable and less stressful experience. Finally, there is no water access at most events. Vendors must be capable of disposing of their liquids off-site and never dump them in the grass, sidewalks, or parking lots. The space in which a vendor occupies while operating their concessions sales must be thoroughly cleaned before exiting the location. When a vendor leaves, the space should be in the same condition in which it was found.
If selected, we will contact you to schedule participation for specific events. We will send you a contract and a policies/guidelines sheet for you to complete. They must be returned to us in a timely manner along with the vendor fee and the following standard required documents:
