WHAT IS MIXED RECYCLING?

Also known as "single-stream", mixed recycling makes it easier by eliminating the need for sorting and separating at the curb. All recyclables are collected in a wheeled-cart by a recycling-only truck and are transported to a sorting facility.

Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) use technologies like optical/air sorters, shaking screens, conveyer belts, vacuums and manual-sorting methods to get the cleanest recycling product.
