Fire Cadet Program

This program is available to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21, this program offers the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge, and abilities in preparing for emergency service careers.

Cadets receive training from fire officers, paramedics, and firefighters. Upon completion of a prescribed training program, Cadets may ride with fire and EMS units as an observer and may be permitted to assist in nonhazardous training and assignments as directed by the officer in charge.

Under the guidance of an adult senior adviser, there is an established rank structure reflective of the fire service. A captain and two lieutenants serve as elected officers and are responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing  meetings and activities.
