Spring Ecofest and Arbor Day Celebration
George C. McGough Nature Park (view slideshow)
Also known as "the turtle park" for its abundant aquatic turtle population, McGough Nature Park is located at 11901 146th Street North. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and stroll through the shady oak hammock or through the mangroves along the intercoastal waterway. Make sure you visit the nature center which houses live animal exhibits and hands-on activities for children. The park offers several environmental education programs. McGough Nature Park offers the following amenities:

John R. Bonner Park
This park is Largos best kept secret! It is located at 14444 143rd Street North. This park is on the Great Florida Birding Trail because of its diverse migratory bird population.Park amenities include:
- A large picnic shelter
- Covered pavilion overlooking the intercoastal waterway
- Dogs are permitted in designated areas of the park
- Nature trails
- Playground

Largo Central Park Nature Preserve
The City of Largo's newest park is located at 150 Highland Avenue SE. The Preserve is surrounded by fresh water, so it is a home to a variety of wildlife. It offers the following amenities: (download brochure)(5mb pdf)- 2-story observation tower
- Canoe/kayak trail (download route map)
- Interpretive kiosk
- Nature trails and boardwalks
- Picnic shelter
- Recreational trail (paved)
