POP Squad - Problem Oriented Policing

The Problem Oriented Police (POP) Unit consists of highly specialized sworn police officers responsible for the protection of life and property. POP Officers utilize a collaborative, problem solving approach to address critical, long-standing quality of life issues. All officers utilize unique problem solving approaches to crime prevention and reduction.

Services that the Problem Oriented Police Unit provide are:

Schedules, promotes and presents crime prevention programs for community organizations, residents and business organizations.

Coordinates and trains Neighborhood Watch and Business Association groups.

Conducts residential and commercial security surveys.

Conducts threat assessments.

Analyzes and develops solutions for chronic crime and quality of life problems, including the responsibility for the documentation and enforcement of gang activity.
