POP Squad - Problem Oriented Policing

The Problem Oriented Police (POP) Unit consists of highly specialized sworn police officers responsible for the protection of life and property. POP Officers utilize a collaborative, problem solving approach to address critical, long-standing quality of life issues. All officers utilize unique problem solving approaches to crime prevention and reduction.
Services that the Problem Oriented Police Unit provide are:
- Schedules, promotes and presents crime prevention programs for community organizations, residents and business organizations.
- Coordinates and trains Neighborhood Watch and Business Association groups.
- Conducts residential and commercial security surveys.
- Conducts threat assessments.

Analyzes and develops solutions for chronic crime and quality of life problems, including the responsibility for the documentation and enforcement of gang activity.
